Volunteers Needed for iCAT+ Study
If you suffer from a binge-eating disorder or bulimia nervosa and are interested in seeking treatment, Drexel University’s “iCAT+” study, “Outside the Therapy Office: Enhancing Integrative-Cognitive Affective Therapy with Ecological Momentary Interventions to Improve Treatment for Patients with Binge Eating Pathology,” is seeking volunteers to test a new smartphone application designed to enhance an evidence-based outpatient therapy treatment for binge eating. The iCAT+ app provides patients with individually tailored and instantaneous reminders to use the skills and strategies they’ve learned in therapy when they need them most. Study participants must be 18 or over and meet criteria for a primary diagnosis of binge eating disorder or bulimia nervosa to be eligible to participate. The treatment will take place weekly at Drexel University and consists of 21 sessions over five months.
If you are interested in participating, contact study coordinator Jennifer Barney at 215.553. 7186 or e-mail EDResearch@drexel.edu.
