Study: New Moms May Be Getting Opioid Painkillers They Don't Need
Owen Montgomery, MD, chair of the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department in the College of Medicine, was quoted in a Feb. 14 Philadelphia Inquirer story about a new study that shows doctors may be prescribing too many ovoid painkillers to new mothers. Montgomery is one of the authors of new Pennsylvania guidelines, which offer recommendations for opioids in obstetric care.
