Poverty dips in city, but need for food stamps rises

Dr. Mariana Chilton, an associate professor and director of the Center for Hunger-Free Communities in the School of Public Health, was quoted in a Philadelphia Inquirer article on September 19 about regional and national trends in poverty and eligibility for food stamps. A separate Philadelphia Inquirer article also featured the Center’s Witnesses to Hunger photo exhibit in Camden, N.J.
