Jaudelice de Oliveira heads the Applied Networking Research Lab in the College of Engineering. She is an expert in computer networking and her research focuses include network routing, optimization, and economic incentives to use cybersecurity practices. She also studies security in sensor networks -particularly smart-grid networks.
In addition to her computer network research, de Oliveira also has extensive background in telecommunications after spending several years developing simulation tools to study telephone networks while working at state telecommunications agencies in Brazil. She is also active in the internet Engineering Task Force (IETF), the organization that develops and promotes Internet standards and protocols.
