Reliving Commencement Through Tweets

Drexel's 2018 University-wide commencement

It was time for Friday Night Lights on June 15 at Citizens Bank Park, but not because there was a Phillies Game underway. It was time to shine light on the Drexel University Class of 2018 during the University-wide commencement ceremony, featuring a keynote address from lauded local film director M. Night Shyamalan.

Things kicked off before the ceremony with official pre-commencement celebrations in Citizens Bank Way. Some families even made their own fun waiting for the gates to open.

As graduates congregated before the procession, it made for the perfect time to snap pictures with friends or classmates from their respective colleges.

Then, it was time to take the field!

The graduates were first addressed by University administration, including President John Fry and Executive Vice President and Nina Henderson Provost M. Brian Blake, PhD.

Then, Shyamalan wowed the crowd, sharing personal experiences and relating them to an inspiring messages to graduations about changing the world.

Family members and friends also showed their love for Shyamalan’s address and for their graduates.

After a rousing fireworks display, it was time for the Class of 2018 to say goodbye to Drexel and become forever Dragons!
