DNEWS, the student-produced news magazine on all things Drexel, has won a National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) award for Best College Production Newscast. This award from NATAS, the same organization that gives out EMMY awards each year to the industry's best television programs, follows the bronze Telly awarded DNEWS received last year.

The episode was a behind-the-scenes look at the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University. The award-winning episode included an interview with Academy President George W. Gephart, Jr., an interview with professor Ken Lacovara showcasing his fieldwork hunting dinosaur fossils, the new Department of Biodiversity, Earth and Environmental Science (BEES), and a look at many of the Academy's one-of-a-kind collections.

Drexel students Alexa Fuentes, Ian Jabour, Sam Moskowitz and Dennis Mullen worked on this award-winning episode. In addition, hosts Rich Mach, Courtney Thomas (associate producer), Maria Papadakis (associate producer) and staff members Jess Travers (associate producer) and Chelsea O'Rourke (DP/Editor) contributed with Dave Culver and Marty Zeid as faculty advisors.
