WHAT: After only 11 months of school, more than 130 second-career students will graduate as nurses. Hundreds will gather to celebrate at the unique “pinning ceremony,” when the students will be awarded their nursing pins, a 1,000-year old symbol of service to others. Drexel’s Accelerated Career Entry (ACE) Program is a full-time, intensive Baccalaureate Nursing Program for those who have already earned a bachelor’s degree in another field and are interested in changing careers. The ACE Program is 11 months in length, the shortest accelerated program in the country. Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) in under a year, as opposed to the traditional course of three or four years.WHO: More than 130 graduates from a variety of different backgrounds bring a wealth of diversity to the profession.
