City Officials to Discuss Prevention of Youth Violence in Philadelphia

What: Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Everett Gillison and Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey will discuss the state of youth violence in Philadelphia during a live radio broadcast hosted by Dr. Charles Williams, assistant clinical professor and director of Drexel’s Center for the Prevention of School Aged Violence. Williams will question his guests on why more funding is not applied to preventing crime rather than incarcerating offenders. He will also detail his own plans for how Drexel’s Center can help curb youth violence in Philadelphia. The panel will include the perspectives of police officials, policy makers, professors and attorneys.
