What: In honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Drexel’s Office of Multicultural Programs and the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design will host a panel discussion titled “Yes We Can: American Civil Rights from Martin Luther King Jr. to President Obama.”The panel will follow a screening of the film “To Kill a Mockingbird,” and will feature civil rights activists, attorneys and historians commenting on America’s civil rights progress since the 1950s. Who: Drexel Trustee Dr. Donna Gentile O’Donnell will introduce the panelists: -Dr. Reverend Thomas Lane Butts, minister emeritus of First United Methodist Church in Monroeville, Ala. and author of Tigers in the Dark -Carl Singley, dean emeritus, Temple University School of Law and an attorney at WolfBlock LLP -Dr. Sheldon Hackney, president emeritus and professor, University of Pennsylvania, former Chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities who specializes in the American South since the Civil War. -Dr. Donald F.
