What: Five hundred imaginative, colorful 3-D models of houses and the 1,000 fifth-grade students from 125 Delaware Valley schools who created them will turn Drexel University’s basketball arena into a dazzling showroom for the Delaware Valley Habitat for Humanity’s “Build a House ... Build a Dream! Contest for Kids.”Sponsored by Drexel’s College of Engineering and funded by donations from Greater Philadelphia businesses, the seventh annual program is designed to raise awareness of the need for affordable housing as part of the chapter’s house-building efforts in Philadelphia, Bucks, Camden, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties.In past years, students have crafted models of houses that are energy efficient, environmentally friendly and built using bongo drums.
