Important Information for the Drexel Community about the MSNBC DebateThe following briefs students, faculty and staff of Drexel University on the activities surrounding the Democratic Presidential Candidates Debate on Tuesday, October 30, 2007. The debate will be broadcast by MSNBC from the Main Building Auditorium from 9 to 11 p.m. (EDT).Main Building Complex: The Main Building Complex will close at 12 p.m. on October 30 to accommodate preparations for the Democratic Presidential Candidates Debate that will take place in the Main Building Auditorium that evening. Those who work or attend classes must leave the building by 12 p.m. and will not be permitted to re-enter the building for the rest of the day unless they are part of the debate preparation team and have proper credentials. Any meetings scheduled in the Main Building Complex on the afternoon of October 30 should be rescheduled or relocated. Classes: Because the Main Building Complex will close at noon the day of the debate, classes taking place there will be relocated or cancelled. Students should consult their instructors for more details. Chestnut Street: Drexel has been advised by the City of the Philadelphia that significant changes will be made to traffic patterns on Chestnut Street between 31st and 33rd Streets, beginning on Monday evening, October 29, and continuing until early Wednesday morning. Outdoor Vendors: Ludlow Street food vendors will be relocated to the north side of Market Street between 33rd and 34th Streets (in front of the Daskalakis Athletic Center) beginning at 7 a.m. on Monday, October 29. Vendors are expected to resume their normal operations on Ludlow Street on Wednesday. Parking: Parking will be limited for all University City Main Campus personnel on Monday and Tuesday. Please consider alternate transportation or parking for those days. There will be no $10.00 daily parking for purchase in the Drexel garage on Monday or Tuesday. Lot A will be closed on Monday and Tuesday. Lot E will be closed on Tuesday. Lot F will close at 12 p.m. Lot M will be closed Sunday through Wednesday.
