New Grant Program to Support Paid Nonprofit Co-op Opportunities for Dragons

Forman Arts Initiative and Philadelphia Foundation have launched Arts Works, a $3 million grant program for local community-based organizations and emerging artists, with additional funds to support co-op positions at recipient organizations starting next year.

Athletic Director Emeritus Reflects on 23 Years in College Athletics

Eric Zillmer, PsyD, shared some of what he saw and experienced during his run of more than 23 years at the helm of collegiate sports for the University — and what comes next.
Preparation and the presentation of her social initiative and talent won Elaine Ficarra the right to be called Miss Philadelphia in the competition’s centennial year, as well as scholarship funding and a chance to compete in the Miss Pennsylvania competition last month, in which she placed third runner up.

Elaine Ficarra, a rising third-year biology major and Pennoni Honors College student, earned the title of Miss Philadelphia after competition was postponed due to the pandemic last year, and placed third runner up at the Miss Pennsylvania competition in June.

Drexel Medicine Resumes Management of Internal Medicine Practice and Student Health Center

The Drexel Internal Medicine practice at 219 North Broad Street and Drexel University’s Student Health Center have rejoined the clinical practices of the College of Medicine. Previously managed by Tower Health Medical Group, the practices returned to Drexel effective July 1, which ensures continuation of these needed services and reflects Drexel’s mission-driven approach to student and population health in Philadelphia.
