  • Internal Medicine Residents Win State “Medical Jeopardy” Competition - Advance to National Championships

    A team of internal medicine residents from Drexel University College of Medicine has taken home the state title of "Medical Jeopardy" champions. The Drexel University College of Medicine team won the Pennsylvania title in a competition held last weekend at Hershey Medical Center. The team had advanced to the state round after winning the Southeastern Pennsylvania regional championship in October. At that time, Drexel University College of Medicine beat out seven other residency programs from the Philadelphia region, including last year's national champs Albert Einstein Medical Center.

  • Dr. Richard Hamilton takes part in Virgin Galactic’s space travel training

    Richard Hamilton, MD, chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine, was on hand yesterday as Virgin Galactic founder Sir Richard Branson underwent training for commercial space travel at Environmental Tectonics Corporation's National Aerospace Training and Research (NASTARSM) Center in Southampton, PA. Virgin Galactic is on track to become the world's first commercial spaceline and provider of private suborbital spaceflights. Dr. Hamilton is leading the team that is evaluating the medical suitability of those first space tourists to travel on a non-government sponsored vehicle.
