Lana de Souza-Lawrence, MD, attended Howard University as an undergraduate, where she graduated with a bachelor's degree in biology. She remained at Howard University for her medical education and then went on to Johns Hopkins University for residency in radiation oncology. Dr. de Souza-Lawrence is now an attending physician in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center in Newark, Delaware.
In addition to the American Society for Radiation Oncology, Dr. de Souza-Lawrence is a member of the American Brachytherapy Society, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Radiological Society of North America and the American College of Radiology. She is currently conducting research on breast cancer and chemotherapy and has given numerous poster presentations on her findings. Dr. de Souza-Lawrence also participated as a reviewer for the 2013 International Journal of Radiation Oncology * Biology * Physics.
