2017 Golden Apple Awards

April 6, 2017

The Drexel 2017 Golden Apple Awards Ceremony

The Golden Apple Awards recognize excellence in teaching and outstanding service by faculty and staff of Drexel University College of Medicine. Students and nominees recently gathered at the Queen Lane Campus for the 22nd Annual Golden Apple Teaching Awards Ceremony where the coveted gold trophies were bestowed.

Each class of medical students nominates and votes on faculty and residents to receive a Golden Apple. Since first- and second-year medical students are divided into two sections – Interdisciplinary Foundations of Medicine (IFM) and Program for Integrated Learning (PIL) – those classes present separate awards to each.

Doctor's Note

Non-faculty awards are given to honor staff who have provided outstanding service to the student body and the College. The awards for staff are voted on by the entire student body. The Special Recognition Awards are voted on by the Student Government Association.

This year's guest speaker was Diane Gottlieb, MD (MCP '88). The ceremony also included performances by Brian Lefchak (Class of 2017) and Doctor's Note, the College of Medicine a cappella group.
