Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine® COVID-19 Response

With the outbreak of COVID-19 — and because we prioritize the health and safety of our community and our patients — we are adjusting some of our upcoming programming and events.

ELAM Class of 2020 Session 3

We are postponing ELAM Session 3 (April 25 – 30, 2020). We are proposing to reschedule Session 3 for April 17 – April 22, 2021, with the remainder of the curriculum delivered in a combination of online and in-person work. We see this an opportunity to be creative in the delivery methods of our curriculum and are working with our faculty now to design the layout of the third session. We will be in contact with our fellows and their deans as we develop these plans.

ELAM’s 25th Anniversary

We are sad to say that we are cancelling our 25th anniversary celebration, which had been rescheduled to April 23, 2021. Due to the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic and the likely continued restrictions around travel and gathering in 2021, we feel that this is the most prudent course of action.

Other Events

Our other events and programming, including alumnae receptions, will be handled on a case-by-case basis. Please check the Alumnae Events & Programming page for the most current information about scheduling of events.

ELAM is a core program of the Institute for Women's Health and Leadership at Drexel University College of Medicine, Philadelphia, Pa. The Institute continues the legacy of advancing women in medicine that began in 1850 with the founding of the Female Medical College of Pennsylvania, the nation's first women's medical school and a predecessor of today's Drexel University College of Medicine.
