Selection Process

Family Medicine Residency program applications are accepted through ERAS. Applicants must provide letters from at least three physicians with whom they have worked in the clinical setting in addition to the ERAS application, dean's letter and USMLE or COMLEX scores. There is no set USMLE/COMLEX score cut-off; applicants should have graduated from medical school within the last five years. The program director and faculty review applications. Interviews are scheduled by invitation from October through January.

The interview day provides the candidates with the opportunity to meet with the program director, Family Medicine Residency faculty and residents of the program. A tour of the family medicine center is included. All candidates will be interviewed by the program director as well as individually interviewed by faculty members. Candidates will interview and tour with a host resident. An opportunity to meet and talk with many residents from the program will be provided during an informal lunch.

A candidate must be legally authorized to work in the United States in order to be appointed/employed in our institution. We do accept both candidates who require immigration sponsorship, such as the H1B visa as well as non-employer sponsored visas, such as the J1. If you currently, or in the future, require employer sponsorship for a visa status, you must communicate this during the interview process.
