Faculty Workshop: How to Become a Fulbright Specialist

Join Dr. Kristy Kelly (Drexel School of Education) and Amirah Nelson (Outreach & Recruitment Officer, Fulbright Specialist Program) to learn how to join the Fulbright Specialist Roster. The Fulbright Specialist Program sends U.S. faculty and professionals to serve as expert consultants on curriculum, faculty development, institutional planning, and related subjects to academic institutions abroad for a period of 2 to 6 weeks. The program allows overseas universities, cultural centers, non-governmental organizations and other institutions abroad to develop collaborative projects which host a leading U.S. academic or professional at their institution to work on diverse, short-term collaborative projects focused on education and training. Film Screening and Panel Discussion: Global Schooling: Experiences of International Students in the U.S.

Miao Wang’s award-winning film, Maineland, chronicles two Chinese teens as they live and study at a small, private secondary school in Fryeburg, Maine. The film raises thoughtful questions about international educational experiences, personal identity, and cross-cultural communication that will be discussed following the film. Event facilitated by Dr. Jennifer Adams (Drexel School of Education) and co-sponsored by Kappa Delta Pi.

Global Education Colloquium

Yosong Sung, PhD, will present her research project, "Schooling at the Center of Refugee Identity and (Dis)ability Implications from North Korean Students with Refugee Backgrounds." The colloquium will take place in-person at the School of Education and streaming live online via Zoom.
