Welcome to Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law! On behalf of the Career Strategies Office (CSO), I look forward to working with you to secure employment that is both meaningful and rewarding. The job search requires an enormous amount of time, energy, and resilience. Our mission is to offer a full range of advising services, educational programs, and networking opportunities to foster a values-driven job search.

A values-driven job search goes beyond the mere mechanics of learning how to write a cover letter, draft a resume, or succeed in an interview. We want to empower you to assess your individual strengths, reflect on the values that motivate you to practice law (or pursue a nontraditional career), and give you the opportunity to reflect, learn, and explore a wide variety of practice options. In order to teach these tools for success, we have created a mandatory curriculum for first-year students that begins your first of the fall semester.

There are many other CSO programs presented throughout the academic year that are voluntary. We encourage you to attend all CSO programs because these are prime opportunities to learn more about legal practice, meet lawyers, and develop professional connections that can lead to jobs.

The first year of law school is an exciting, transformational, and sometimes stressful experience. Our office’s role is to help you move toward a full-time job at graduation, one step at a time. We know that students who take ownership of the job search process and honor their values and strengths will find the employer that is the right fit for them. Be prepared to experience both successes and disappointments during the job search—it’s all part of the process! Law school is a marathon, not a sprint, and on behalf of the CSO staff, we are here to help you run this race successfully.
