Professor David S. Cohen Joins Panel Discussion on Marriage Equality in Pennsylvania

David S. Cohen

June 03, 2014

On June 4, Professor David S. Cohen will discuss the impact of the ruling that struck down Pennsylvania’s ban on gay marriage at a town hall meeting organized by the ACLU of Pennsylvania, the Mazzoni Center, the Philadelphia Bar Association’s LGBT Rights Committee and the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations.

The forum offered perspective on the May 21 ruling by U.S. District Court Judge John Jones, who found that Pennsylvania's law against same-sex marriage was unconstitutional.

Cohen joined attorneys from the ACLU, the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Mazzoni Center, practitioners from prominent Philadelphia law firms and Professor Leonore Carpenter of Temple University’s Beasley School of Law at the forum, held at the William Way Community Center.

On June 2, Cohen was interviewed regarding the state of marriage equality on a podcast produced by RH Reality Check, a digital publication focused on reproductive and sexual health issues.
