Collaboration and Funding Opportunities

The Urban Health Network for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC-Urban Health) facilitates opportunities for exchange and collaboration between researchers, practitioners, and policymakers. Funding is also sometimes available for regional researchers to attend network events, with preference given to those at early stages of their careers.

All who conduct urban health research or who work in other sectors related to urban health in Latin America and/or the Caribbean are welcome to request to join the network.

Join the network

LAC-Urban Health encourages research and programming to improve the health in cities of Latin America and the Caribbean.

We strive to connect network members with funding opportunities that will promote the achievement of our mission. We routinely provide a limited amount of competitive funding for attendance at LAC-Urban Health meetings. We also assist members in their efforts to promote health, collaboration and the knowledge exchange for urban health in Latin America.

No funding opportunities are available at this time; however, we will provide information in this space as opportunities for funding arise.

Events and Networking

LAC-Urban Health hosts biannual in-person meetings. Find more information on upcoming meetings on our upcoming events page.

Beginning November 2018, the Salud Urbana en América Latina (SALURBAL) project will host an annual Knowledge-to-Policy Forum to bring together policy-makers, decision-makers, researchers, and academics from the region. This event will focus on exchanging actionable knowledge related to urban health and identifying ways this knowledge can be incorporated into global, regional, national, and local urban health agendas and policies.

Additionally, in upcoming project years, SALURBAL will host two Latin American Urban Health Symposia. Each symposium will be an opportunity to share policy-relevant research findings and lessons learned from the region, discuss evidence-based policies and interventions that have been proven to improve health in cities, and network with experts from across the region.
