The fifth biannual meeting of the Salud Urbana en América Latina (SALURBAL) project and seventh meeting of the Urban Health Network for Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC-Urban Health) brings together collaborators from country hubs and project partners. The biannual meetings are an opportunity for the SALURBAL team to share updates and collaboratively plan next steps over a three-day event that includes works-in-progress presentations, plenary sessions, and working meetings.

Health, Housing, and Neighborhood Interventions in Brazil (Saúde, habitação e políticas urbanas no Brasil)

The SALURBAL policy symposium engages local communities, policy audiences, technical experts, and researchers in a dialogue around urban health interventions and shares experiences of those involved in their design, implementation, and evaluations of their health impacts. The event encourages debate regarding linkages between data and evidence and policymaking to inform multi-sectoral urban policies that improve health. The symposium has no registration cost and is open to the public.

Levels and Determinants of Urban Mortality: A Focus on Cities of Latin America

The Drexel Urban Health Collaborative’s SALURBAL Project is convening this pre-symposium event to discuss challenges and opportunities in characterizing and studying the determinants of urban mortality with a special focus on the Latin American context. The first panel will feature presentations and moderated discussion from experts in the field and the second panel will present preliminary results from the SALURBAL Project.
