World Password Day
May 6, 2021
The first Thursday of May is World Password Day. Password management is an important part of ensuring the privacy and security of your information. To celebrate this day, the Information Security team would like to share some tips to use when setting up and maintaining your passwords.
- Create strong passwords - they should be between 10 and 32 characters in length and include upper and lower case letters, numbers, and special characters
- Do not reuse the same or old passwords associated with Drexel accounts for other websites/applications
- Implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) for all your apps and services whenever available
- Even though Drexel does not require one, we encourage you to use a password manager to organize your passwords in a safe and convenient way
Also, do not forget to follow the guidelines and best practices included here by the Information Security Office.
