College Access Academy

Applying to colleges is both an exciting and overwhelming time for high school students and their families — this is especially true for historically underrepresented and first-generation college students. To aid you in the process, Drexel presents the College Access Academy. This one-week summer program is designed to assist historically underrepresented rising high school juniors and seniors who identify as Black or African American, Indigenous Peoples of the Americas or other Pacific Islander, and/or first-generation through the college selection and admissions processes.

Through the College Access Academy, we offer interactive workshops on various topics including selecting a right-fit college, choosing a major, SAT preparation, essay writing, interviewing skills, financing a college education, and more. Each student will be paired with a College Access Academy faculty member who will guide them throughout the entire week and provide individualized counseling. The capstone of the week is for students to leave excited for their futures with a list of right-fit schools to visit and apply to in their senior year.

Information about the 2022 Access Academy will be available in the spring.
