Juneteenth is the newest U.S. federal holiday and celebrates the effective end of slavery in the U.S. In a post on the Center's new blog, staff member Natalie Shaak reflects on the day from her perspective as a white ally. She contemplates what we can do to honor the day but struggles with celebrating freedom when so many Americans still are fighting for true freedom and equality.
