Your Future, Your Plan: Drexel's Transition to TIAA

Your Future. Your Plan. Updates to the Drexel University Defined Contribution Retirement Plan

At Drexel University, we’re committed to offering a retirement program that helps you plan for and build long-term financial security. That's why we're consolidating our retirement plan administration with one record keeper, TIAA. This change, designed to provide streamlined administration, easier retirement planning, lower fees, and enhanced services and education, will take place in November and December 2021.

For detailed information about this transition, please review Your Future. Your Plan. Updates to the Drexel University Defined Contribution Retirement Plan [PDF], where you'll find an action item checklist, key dates, new services for all participants, information about transitioning your account if you are new to TIAA, disclosures and more.

TIAA is here to help! For any questions, schedule an individual consultation with a TIAA financial consultant by visiting TIAA.org/schedulenow-drexel or calling 800.732.8353, Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

For additional questions, you can also contact TIAA participant services at 800.842.2252, Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-10 p.m. If you are new to TIAA and don’t have an existing account, follow these steps to navigate the automated phone options (for options in Spanish, start by pressing #9):

  •  Call 800.842.2252, Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-10 p.m.
  • Press #3 ("new to TIAA and wish to enroll, establish an account, or learn more about TIAA products").
  • Then press #1 ("to find out more about our retirement accounts, including employer plans and IRAs").
  • Lastly, press #2 ("for employer plans and other retirement accounts"). You will then be connected with a TIAA specialist.

What if I do nothing? Future contributions and account balances for Fidelity and Vanguard participants will automatically transfer to options in the new investment lineup in your new or existing account with TIAA.

Check Your Beneficiary Designations

Fidelity and Vanguard participants should review the transition guide to understand how their beneficiary designations will transfer to their new TIAA account. Starting on November 16 Vanguard and Fidelity participants who do not already have an account at TIAA in the Plan will be enrolled in a new TIAA account. At that time, you will be able to view your beneficiary designation and make changes, if desired. TIAA participants can continue to review and update your beneficiaries at any time. For instructions on how to designate a beneficiary in your TIAA account, review the step-by-step beneficiary guide under the quick links section on the right-hand side of the screen.
