The Philadelphia Cultural Pass Program gives Drexel University faculty and professional staff the opportunity to attend concerts, exhibits and performances at some of the premier arts and cultural venues in the city, at reduced or no cost. Read on to learn how you can take advantage of these exciting opportunities.

Barnes Foundation

Located on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, the Barnes Foundation holds one of the finest impressionist, post-impressionist, and early modern art collections in the world – with room after room of floor to ceiling masterpieces by the world's most celebrated artists, including Renoir, Picasso, Cezanne and Van Gogh. The Foundation offers diverse educational programs based on the teachings and one-of-a-kind art and horticulture collections of its founder, Dr. Albert C. Barnes.

Benefits to Drexel Employees (valid through Sept. 2020):

  • Free general admission for the Drexel employee, plus one guest (show your DragonCard employee ID at check-in).
  • 10 percent discount in the Barnes Shop, restaurant and coffee bar (show your admission ticket).

Kimmel Center Cultural Campus

The Kimmel Center Cultural Campus is made up of the Academy of Music, Merriam Theater, and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. Drexel University will offer employees opportunities to attend events on the Kimmel Center Cultural Campus. These offers may be used to see the best of Broadway, the Philadelphia Orchestra, the Pennsylvania Ballet, Philadanco, The Philly Pops, and an all-star lineup of jazz, rock, comedy, and family entertainment.

These opportunities will be announced in the monthly Drexel HR @ Your Service email newsletter. If interested, you must complete a survey (linked in the newsletter) to indicate your interest on a first-come, first-served basis. Recipients will then receive an email that includes a discount code, to be redeemed when you purchase tickets directly from the Kimmel Center website.

Philadelphia Museum of Art

The Philadelphia Museum of Art, located in an iconic building on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, home to 200 galleries of world-class art and Philadelphia’s destination for creative play. Periodically, Drexel University will offer a limited number of free tickets to employees, valid for one-time general admission to the Museum's main building, Perelman Building, Rodin Museum, and historic houses, for two consecutive days, during regular opening hours. This offer is not valid for ticketed special exhibitions.

Opportunities will be advertised monthly in the Drexel HR @ Your Service email newsletter. If interested, you must complete a survey (linked in the newsletter) to indicate your interest on a first-come, first-served basis. You will then be provided with a unique gift code, that you will redeem on a special Drexel ticket portal website, operated by the Museum.

The Philadelphia Orchestra

Drexel University will periodically offer employees free tickets to select concerts by the Philadelphia Orchestra and its world-renowned musicians.

Orchestra concert opportunities will be announced in the monthly Drexel HR @ Your Service email newsletter. If interested, you must complete a survey (linked in the newsletter) to indicate your interest and preference, on a first-come, first-served basis. You will receive confirmation from Drexel HR if your ticket request is granted. On the day/night of the concert, you will pick up your tickets at the Orchestra box office using your DragonCard employee ID.

Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University

Faculty and professional staff (all DragonCard holders) do get free individual general admission to the Academy, but a full membership includes a host of other benefits. Learn about membership levels and their corresponding benefits on the Academy's website.

Drexel employees can use payroll deduction to purchase a membership to the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University (the Academy). All Drexel faculty and professional staff can elect to pay for a year's membership either in monthly increments or with a one-time payment.

Payroll deduction is a quick and easy way for you to become involved with the Academy. The Academy will offer a 10 percent discount to any faculty or professional staff member who chooses to join through payroll deduction. To become a member, complete the Academy Membership Payroll Deduction Form [PDF] and return to Institutional Advancement as indicated on the form.

These Academy benefits are ongoing for Drexel employees, not specific to the Philadelphia Cultural Pass Program.
