Public Health Leadership Pathway

This seven-month program is a combination of online asynchronous (self-paced) training and an instructor-led workshop. You are introduced to the concepts of public health leadership and includes the following courses:

Practical Project Management for the Working Professional (Required, In-person, subject to change based on COVID-19 recommendations)

Through an action learning approach, participants gain knowledge of project management concepts, tools and best practices; apply and practice those learnings; and discuss and plan on how to proactively integrate those results into their current and future work.

Public Health Leadership (Required, Online)

This training will introduce students to the concepts of public health leadership including distinctions between leadership and management. It will explore leadership theory provide students with examples of leading through crisis, diversity in leadership and leadership in action.

Public Health Communication (Required, online)

Using theory and practice, students will learn how to provide audiences with targeted, clear, and actionable information, which is essential to increasing knowledge, helping audiences understand risk, and encouraging healthy behaviors.
