The Office of International Programs (OIP) is co-sponsoring the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia’s “Great Debates” conference 21st Century Technology: New Beginning or Terrible End, February 3, 2015, 10:30 a.m.–8p.m. in Behrakis Grand Hall. This conference will feature many of the nation’s leading thinkers on technology, and will explore issues of privacy in a connected world, genetic science, energy and climate, and space exploration.

Shannon Marquez, Associate Vice Provost for Global Health and International Development has recently been elected to the Consortium of Universities for Global Health’s Board of Directors. Dr. Marquez will serve on CUGH’s board for 3 years, helping oversee various operations of the organization. This is a very competitive position, Dr. Marquez obtaining one of six positions amongst 55 applicants around the world.

Drexel University was one of the seven Forum on Education Abroad member institutions selected to participate in the New York Times and Forum on Education Abroad Resource Center Pilot Project. This pilot project will assist in the development of an Education Abroad Digital Resource Center for Forum members.

Beginning in the fall of 2014, two biomedical engineering (BME) graduate students at Drexel, Adrian Curtin and Daryl OmireSMayor, of the Cognitive Neuroengineering and Quantitative Experimental Research Collaborative, were given the opportunity to study at Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in Shanghai, China.
