Funding Program for Student Organizations

September 1, 2013

The Office of International Programs is pleased to announce its new "Student Sponsored International Event" (SSIE) series. The SSIE series is a funding award program for student organizations and leaders to hold an internationally-themed event for the Drexel community. Student organizations are welcome to begin submitting applications as early as Fall quarter 2013-2014. Competitive applications will demonstrate how the event will promote intercultural and global awareness, provide a detailed budget, and demonstrate cost-sharing, either by the student organization, SAFAC, external funding, or an academic department. Some examples of student events include, but are not limited to, faculty or student lectures on a global crisis, events that engage domestic and international students, events that promote study or co-op abroad, and cultural heritage events. Events must be free and open to the entire Drexel community.

Student organizations must also include the Office of International Programs on all promotional material.

This program is competitive, and OIP will award two events per quarter. Student organizations can only be awarded one SSE award per fiscal year. If you any questions about the SSE series, please contact Adam Zahn, Program Coordinator, at We look forward to reading your submissions!
