Student Sponsored Global Event Funding
The Student Sponsored International Event program (SSIE) is a funding award program for student organizations and other campus leaders to hold an internationally-themed event for the Drexel community. Competitive applications will demonstrate how the event will promote intercultural and global awareness, provide a detailed budget, and demonstrate cost-sharing, either by the student organization, the Student Activities Fund Allocation Committee (SAFAC), external funding, or an academic department. Some examples of student events include, but are not limited to, faculty or student lectures on a global crisis, events that engage domestic and international students, events that promote study or co-op abroad, and cultural heritage events. Events must be free and open to the entire Drexel community.
Student organizations must also include the Office of Global Engagement and Education Abroad on all promotional material.
This program is competitive, and the Office of Global Engagement will award two events per quarter. Student organizations can only be awarded one award per fiscal year.
