Thank you for your interest in joining the GENTE Consortium. We encourage universities, research institutions, and organizations with complementary agendas to apply for membership, as well as individual researchers or practitioners with relevant expertise.
Expectations
GENTE expects that member institutions will share and actively promote a commitment to increasing national human capacity and protecting biodiversity in Equatorial Guinea. Members may contribute by:
- Providing technical expertise in one or more of the following areas: international education, professional development, biodiversity research, public health, sustainable livelihoods, or ecological conservation in Central Africa
- Assuming a position on the Education Management Council or Environmental Stewardship Jobs Council to develop programmatic components
- Serving on the GENTE Innovations Grant panel to award funding for GENTE Scholars to develop applied research programs, businesses, or conservation projects
- Designing mentorship opportunities for GENTE Scholars
- Offering graduate degree opportunities for GENTE Scholars
- Participating in the annual GENTE conference
Membership Benefits
Members will join a network of universities and organizations with a shared commitment to providing educational and environmental conservation solutions in Central Africa. Benefits may include:
- Membership on councils or project-specific working groups
- Access to a community of academics and practitioners with aligned interests for developing collaborative projects
- Funding opportunities for conservation work in the Gran Caldera Scientific Reserve and Monte Alén National Park, or other environmental stewardship initiatives in Equatorial Guinea
- Enrollment of GENTE Scholars in university programs (NOTE: scholarships will cover the full cost of tuition)
- Appointment as a GENTE Fellow
- Acknowledgment as a member institution on GENTE communications
- Invitations to high-level events
