Darshak Shah

I am an undergraduate student here at Drexel University's School of Biomedical Engineering and Health Sciences. I graduated from Jai Hind College, Mumbai, India in 2008 and decided to attend Drexel because of its national reputation, technological focus, intensive research and the co-op program. I have always had a deep passion for science and engineering and am particularly interested in orthopedics and musculoskeletal research. My previous co-op was at a medical device company, where I worked on designing implants, which addressed the osteoporotic patient population. I also have a keen interest in the business aspect of the industry and I try to follow the markets regularly. I have also taken part in the Baida Institute’s Entrepreneurship competition. My career goal is to be involved in the design and manufacturing of low cost affordable medical implants for the people living at the bottom of the pyramid.

Besides studies I enjoy trekking and long distance running. I plan to take part in the Tough Mudder competition in the future. I also take keen interest in playing cricket, badminton and volleyball.
