Goldwater Scholar 2010-12

Physics BS, 2011

I am currently a Physics Junior in the four-year program. I started doing research as a freshman through the STAR program and since then I have found myself in a field which I truly enjoy. Receiving the Goldwater is definitely going to help me to achieve my goals at Drexel, in graduate school, and possibly even beyond that. The research experiences I have had both before and after receiving the Goldwater Scholarship has most certainly been life changing; I am doing things I never thought I would.

When I applied for the Goldwater Scholarship, there was one thing I wanted to really express about myself through the application - how excited I am to be working in science. The Goldwater is an award given to those who show potential to do great things in the STEM fields and who show a willingness to continue on with their work. For those applying for the Goldwater Scholarship in the future, or any other award, I believe that it is really important for you to show who you are and why you are the perfect fit for an award by letting your personality come through in your writing.
