BS Custom-Designed Major - Human-Centered Design '20

Drexel mentor: Lauren Steinberg

As an aspiring user-interface and user-experience designer, Aidan’s goal as an undergraduate student is to saturate his college career with interdisciplinary experiences and hands-on work with human-computer interaction in order to develop a sense of empathy and better himself as a professional within the design industry. When he’s on campus, Aidan works at a HCI research lab alongside fellow student psychologists, researchers, designers and developers to create digital solutions for people living with certain social needs. He also enjoys working on the Campus Activities Board as a graphic designer for various events. For Aidan's first co-op he was a Design Intern for Fantasy Interactive, a human-centered design agency in New York City, and will be interning as a Product Designer for Facebook summer 2018 for his second co-op. In his free time, Aidan enjoys watching Wheel of Fortune with his cousins, playing Zelda on his Nintendo Switch, reading comic books, and spending time with his close friends and family.

Aidan intends to spend a full academic year at the University of Aberdeen, one of the four ancient universities in Scotland. He plans to spend a lot of time exploring Europe and is eager to see what the culture is like outside of the United States (he’s never been to Europe!). He is excited to step out of his comfort zone and aims to return to the U.S. with a better sense of empathy and ability to perform as a designer.
