May 29, 2018
Congratulations to Kevin DeBrouex (BS Communication '18), selected to participate in the China Educational Association of International Exchange (CEAIE) Teach in China program!
Kevin DeBrouex is completing his bachelor's in technical and science communication. Since 2016, he has had a work-study position in the Department of Communication. Kevin aspires to have a career that combines diplomacy with education. As a Drexel undergrad, he has been actively gaining experiences that will assist him on this journey. His first co-op was with the International House in Harrisburg where he served as a liaison between international students and their visa sponsors. In 2017, he received a second co-op as a Foreign English Teacher in Dalian, China. Over the next several years, he will continue to develop his skills as an educator. Kevin is an advocate of cultural competency and hopes to inspire his students to embark on cultural exchanges of their own.
The China Educational Association of International Exchange (CEAIE) program brings teachers from Australia, Canada, New Zealand, United Kingdom, or the US to live and work in China for 12 months. The aim of the program is to promote language exchange and mutual understanding among young people at home and abroad, and to improve foreign language evaluation in Chinese schools. The program is supported by CEAIE and the Institute of International Education. Learn more about this scholarship on our CEAIE Teach in China webpage.
