2016-17 Udall Scholarship

The Udall Scholarship is open to college sophomores and pre-/juniors who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to the environment (or to tribal health policy). The award offers up to $7,000 plus extensive networking opportunities. The Udall Foundation seeks future leaders across a wide spectrum of environmental fields, including policy, engineering, science, education, urban planning and renewal, business, health, justice, and economics.
Who are they looking for?
Udall Scholars typically have a track record of promoting environmental issues, a desire for problem-solving or consensus-building, leadership potential and a vision for how they're going to make a difference.
To be eligible, you must:

- Be a US Citizen, National, or Permanent Resident
- Have 1-3 years of full-time undergraduate study remaining
- a record of working on environment-related service or research;
- a commitment to solve problems through consensus-building;
- demonstrated leadership potential;
- a vision for how they will make a difference.
How to Apply
To apply for this award, you must be nominated by Drexel University. We hold an open campus competition for nomination beginning in October.
Applying for nomination involves a few steps:
Step 1. Get ready
Attend an info session and/or sign up for the Fellowships Blackboard Site to learn more about the Udall Scholarship and obtain a pre-application worksheet.
Udall Scholarship Information Session
Thursday, November 5, 12-1PM

This info session will provide an overview of Udall scholarship, including how to apply for campus nomination, program benefits, and more.
Please register in advance.
Step 2. Submit a Pre-Application Worksheet.
All interested applicants must fill out a pre-application worksheet by November 30, 2015.

Step 3. Apply for Nomination
Required Internal Application Deadline: January 15, 2016 at 12 PM (noon).
You must complete Steps 1 & 2 to receive an internal application.
Students are encouraged to contact us in advance of the deadline to
discuss the program and receive feedback.
Step 4. Nominee Application Review
Campus review deadline (for nominees): February 5
Nominated students will submit a full application, including letters of recommendation by this date. Sample application materials are available on the Fellowships Blackboard Site.
Step 5. National Application Deadline
Nominees will meet with the nominating committee in January to discuss their applications and receive feedback.
National deadline: March 2, 2016.
