On February 16, 2015, we were privileged to host our inaugural STEAM Education Workshop, and the response from both presenters and participants was deeply affirming. It was thrilling to see and share some the amazing work and ideas being pursued here in Philadelphia and beyond, and I believe we generated even greater momentum for STEAM-related activities as well as additional opportunities for collaboration. Our keynote speaker, Dr. Gaël McGill of Harvard Medical School, demonstrated his team's incredible work in developing stunning cinema-quality visualizations for the acclaimed Life on Earth interactive textbook (Apple iBook), co-authored with E.O. Wilson. Dr. McGill also highlighted ongoing efforts to better engage and inspire leaners through newly developed fully interactive visualizations of biological phenomena.
