GK-12: Graduate STEM Fellows in K-12 Education
Funded by the National Science Foundation, the Graduate STEM Fellows in K-12 Education (GK-12) Program at Drexel University exists to connect PhD students with local teachers to enhance the math and science education of students.
Focusing on these challenges allows the graduate Fellows and Teachers to help foster an appreciation for science and mathematics among students in an applied, real-world context. Fellows work with Teachers over the summer to develop a curriculum, which they then assist in implementing throughout the school year. This gives Fellows the opportunity to become knowledgeable in pedagogy through direct application of their expertise in the classroom, student mentorship, and interaction with Teachers.
