Using Culturally Sustaining Learning Environments to Explore Computational Learning & Identity

This collaboration between Boston University, Tufts University, the University of Florida, Olin College of Engineering, and DancExcel explores the intersections of the five elements of hip-hop and computational making practices in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Through the design of workshops that draw from principles of hip-hop based education, culturally sustaining pedagogy, and aspects of STEM-rich making, we explore youth identities and development of computational making competencies.
