Madeline Demas is a third year student studying Digital Storytelling under the guidance of the Custom-Designed Major Program, and is attempting a minor in Korean. She is very interested in web development, interactive media, new technology, and design and how these subjects can interact with the traditional idea of storytelling. She is also interested in digital literacy, the technology gap that prevails in this generation, and possible solutions to these problems. Madeline has a passion for East Asia, recently completing a term abroad in Seoul, South Korea. She hopes to return to work on projects in Asia after she graduates.
During her time at the ExCITe Center, Madeline focuses on projects that rest on the principles of ExCITe while also concentrating on civic engagement. She works primarily with the Digital Inclusion Group (DIG), especially Digital On-Ramps (DOR), where she provides general support. She also hosts ExCITeCast, the center’s podcast airing on WKDU, every month.
