Lauren Bauman is a third year at Drexel University, majoring in International Area Studies with a concentration in International Business and Economics. While she has a love for travel and foreign affairs, she is most passionate about making a positive impact in my Philadelphia community. She heavily involved in work with college access throughout the city, including work with the Mayor’s Office of Education. Nothing is more invigorating than an opportunity to discuss social justice, community development, and education!
As the ExCITe Civic Innovation Assistant, Lauren is able to combine her love for community development with the opportunity to learn about new developments in the areas of design, technology and entrepreneurship. She is the host of the ExCITeCast, which engages the Drexel and Philadelphia community in news at the intersection of ExCITe’s three pillars. She as well supports the Digital Inclusion Group (DIG), especially Digital On Ramps (DOR) with new developments and project. Through the Civic Innovation position, she is able to connect with many of ExCITe’s partners and spread and discuss interesting projects, discoveries, and events throughout Philadelphia!
