Co-Op Creates a Career Path

“My first co-op was at the USDA doing research on bio-fuels. I enjoyed the potential of this research but I realized I wanted to work closer to the application-end of engineering rather than the research-end. My last two co-ops were with American Water in their design engineering team. I was given diverse tasks including researching climate resiliency, water quality data analysis, and AutoCAD for civil design. I really loved that diversity of work as well as the company atmosphere.”

Rewarding Extracurricular Activities

“Last year, I was President of Drexel Sierra Club. I love camping and hiking so I loved being a part of that club. We helped found the Drexel Sustainability Coalition, which I hope will continue to grow this year. I'm also in Fossil Free, a club requesting Drexel divest from their investments in fossil fuels. Outside of Drexel, I take operatic voice lessons (I'm a high soprano).”

Connecting Classwork to Co-Op

“My Controls class is challenging, but I like that I get to apply what I learned in Mathematical Methods of Chemical Engineering to what I’m learning now. I also like that I can connect it to designs I assisted with for American Water.”
