GAANN Fellowship in Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics

We invite you to apply for the GAANN Fellowship to pursue a PhD degree in the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics at Drexel University where you will gain specialized training to address critical infrastructure challenges facing the US and the world. You will receive:

  • yearly stipend up to US$34,000
  • full tuition support
  • training in STEM teaching
  • PhD focusing on Infrastructure Challenges

You will be able to work with highly engaged faculty and choose from a broad range of research topics in energy and the environment:

  • Energy Production, Storage, and Conversion
  • Mechanics, Materials, and Structural Health Monitoring
  • Water and Environmental Sustainability
  • Robotics, Automation, and Manufacturing

The GAANN Fellowship is supported by the U.S. Department of Education to provide Graduate Assistance in Areas of National Need. For this program, you need to meet the following:

  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • excellent academic record
  • demonstrate financial need
  • enrolled in or accepted to our PhD program
