Biography

Fernando Tovia is an Associate Professor in the School of Design and Engineering at Thomas Jefferson University, and Adjunct Professor and Course Chair in the Systems Engineering Program at Drexel University. Prior to his current position, he spent 21 years working in the Textile Industry in Mexico both as a General Manager and a consultant working on strategic planning, supply chain management and manufacturing systems. Dr. Tovia received his B.S.I.E from the Universidad de las Americas (Mexico), his M.S.I.E. from Oklahoma State University and his Ph.D. from the University of Arkansas. His research interest includes Supply Chain Modeling, Service Parts Logistics, Emergency Logistics, Textile Applied Research, and Engineering Education. He is a member of the IIE, INFORMS, ASEE, and the UK Chartered Institute of Logistics.
