Founded in 2014, ic@3401 is a startup incubator co-managed by Drexel Ventures and the University City Science Center. Located at the NW corner of Market Street and 34th Street, ic@3401 houses over 30 startups in a 17,000 square foot facility. Member startups have raised $18 million in 2016 and $15 million in 2017; highest amount of any incubation space in the Greater Philadelphia region*. Member startups are carefully curated to create a powerful value proposition for both startups and the community of University City academic innovators.
ExCITe Center hosts a range of transdisciplinary research groups, teams and projects, and seek to maintain an environment encouraging the serendipitous exchange of knowledge and ideas that lead to the formation of new connections, inspirations, and collaborations.
The Center brings into proximity Drexel faculty, staff, students, neighborhood partners and resources across Philadelphia to catalyze change. We believe that a network of engaged “do-ers” across civic, education, research, arts, and industry pursuits can create collectively a bright future for our City.
Close School of Entrepreneurship & Baiada Institute for Entrepreneurship
The Charles D. Close School of Entrepreneurship is the nation's first freestanding school of entrepreneurship to offer degrees. The Close School's interdisciplinary programs and curricula, which serve our undergraduate students of all academic disciplines and career ambitions, and represents a bold new approach to entrepreneurship education. The Close School's academic programs prepare students to face the challenges of self-employment and new venture creation in an evolving 21st century workforce.
The Charles D. Close School of Entrepreneurship is also home to the Laurence A. Baiada Institute for Entrepreneurship, an incubator for student business ideas.
