CASTLE PROFESS Information Session

Join Drexel's University's Center for the Advancement of STEM Teaching and Learning Excellence (CASTLE) for an information session on the NSF Pilot PROFESS program.

About PROFESS:
This program prepares STEM (or STEM equivalent) graduate students to improve instruction and engage undergraduate students in their STEM education. Graduate students also receive preparation to enter academic careers with coursework and mentored training in evidence-based pedagogies. 

Attendees will learn about the program, the prerequisite course, GRAD 511: Foundations of Evidence-Based STEM Pedagogy, the graduate minor in Undergraduate STEM Education, and the Drexel CIRTL professional development program.

Program outcomes, include:

  • Prepares graduate students for future academic faculty positions.
  • Improves disciplinary research through engagement in the scholarship of teaching.
  • Students receive access to STEM education resources, including scholarly articles, research design best practices, faculty mentorship, and professional development.
  • Students can earn an additional advanced degree or graduate minor in undergraduate STEM education
