COVID-19 Closures and Cancellations
Here at Drexel, we are carefully monitoring the impact and spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus and are taking precautions consistent with recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and the Philadelphia Department of Health. As you may have heard, Drexel has moved final exams online and has advised that it is cancelling all activities and events involving individuals outside of Drexel faculty, professional staff, and students.
At this direction, as of March 12, 2020, all Dornsife Center programming and activities for non-Drexel related purposes have been cancelled.
What is most important at this time is the health of our community members and staff. Because conditions with regard to COVID-19 are evolving rapidly, we are unsure how long this restriction will need to be in place. We will continue to update you with any new information about when we may be able to re-open as we receive it. Please be assured that we are taking the situation seriously and our goal is to help minimize the spread and impact of the virus.
Dornsife Center staff will reply to voicemails and emails to answer questions regarding programming changes. The phone number during our closure is 267-328-4419, and the email is dornsifecenter@drexel.edu. The Helms Academy’s GED and Community College of Philadelphia education programs will also be closed. If you need to contact the program coordinator, Amy Ballard. You can find her information and contact information for our other onsite partners below:
Details on all the precautionary measures enacted thus far can be found on the Drexel COVID-19 informational website. And again, we will continue to share updates as we have them. Thank you for your understanding and patience as we deal with this complex and evolving situation.
