Ready to apply? Here’s how in 3 simple steps.

Step 1: Review program information

Review all background information about the Dornsife Global Development Scholars (DGDS) program on this website. Be sure to review the diversity of work and field experiences that past Dornsife Global Development Scholars have had (from 2014-present).

Step 2: Prepare supplemental application materials

Compile your references, statement of purpose, and resume:

• References: Contact information of two professional references that are knowledgeable of your ability to work on projects related to the overall improvement of health outcomes in low-resource communities, and pursue a career contributing to international development. One reference must be from a Drexel University faculty or staff member.
• Statement of Purpose: A 750-word statement of interest that describes (1) specific ways working within World Vision WASH portfolio relate to your future aspirations in global health, (2) unique contributions you can make to World Vision efforts to meet their strategic goals and UN SDGs by 2030 given your current skills and experiences, and (3) prior experiences working in diverse communities.
• Resume/Curriculum Vitae (CV): CV should be a maximum of 2 pages and highlight experiences relevant to the program.

Step 3: Submit your application. (A link to the application will be posted here in mid-October 2024.)

Decisions are announced in a formal acknowledgement sent to applicants by email before the winter break.

Note: This is a very competitive program. Completing the Dornsife Global Development Scholars application process does not guarantee placement.

Additionally, in order to meet Drexel University requirements for co-op credit, an international experience, practicum, thesis or other academic requirements (if applicable), students must also abide by the application and registration requirements of Steinbright Career Development Center (for co-op), the Office of Global Engagement international experiences process, and obtain approval from your advisor/department, college/school (if seeking credit in partial fulfillment of other academic requirements, such as practicum, thesis/dissertation research, etc.).
