Faculty and student at the Cybersecurity Institute are actively involved in cybersecurity research. A good measure of research impact is the diversity of funding sources supporting Drexel’s cybersecurity research and innovation: Drexel's research is clearly in alignment with the cybersecurity research priorities of both government and corporate funding agencies. The quality of the outstanding research being conducted is evident from the prestigious and broad collection of journals and conferences in which our work is published.

Cybersecurity research today is a far cry from its original focus on network protocols and cryptography. Today’s cybersecurity challenges require an incredibly diverse collection of interdisciplinary approaches, including machine learning, big data, signal processing, algorithm design, computer hardware and software, biometrics, and many others.
